What is Osteoarthritis?

Osteoarthritis is the most common disease of the joints. It occurs when joint cartilage is damaged and the bone begins to change as a result.

The patient is then unable to move freely. The joint becomes inflamed, swells up, and is painful.

The hands, knees, and hips are the joints most commonly affected, but osteoarthritis can occur in all other joints as well.
